The voices of Tax Policy Center's researchers and staff
Baffled by the BAT? Confounded by the cash flow tax? Mystified by the mortgage deduction? To help sort it all out, the Tax Policy Center is proudly introducing its new Podcast, Taxology. And its first show will walk you through the most far-reaching--and controversial--element of the House Republican Tax Plan, the destination-based cash flow tax. Listen to the podcast below, or subscribe on iTunes.
The host of Taxology is Kathy Schalch, a veteran of National Public Radio. Through interviews with experts at TPC and elsewhere, Kathy breaks down the border adjustable tax (the BAT) to explain how this new business tax would work and what it might mean for firms and consumers.
We hope that Taxology will become a regular TPC feature as we look for new ways to make the often-arcane details of tax policy understandable. It will supplement our many other tools, including TaxVox, our Briefing Book, and our ongoing analysis of tax proposals.
Let us know what you think of Taxology. You can comment here with your thoughts about our first podcast as well as your ideas for future topics.
Posts and comments are solely the opinion of the author and not that of the Tax Policy Center, Urban Institute, or Brookings Institution.
