The Prescription: Fiscal Policy for the COVID-19 Economy with William Spriggs

This week’s guest: William Spriggs

The Tax Policy Center (TPC) is presenting a series of online conversations on policy responses to the COVID-19 economy. These discussions run every other Thursday afternoon and feature varying perspectives on the historic economic challenges facing the US and the world and how best to meet them.

This week, our guest is former assistant secretary of labor William Spriggs (@WSpriggs). Currently, he is professor of economics at Howard University and chief economist of the AFL-CIO. He recently wrote the essay “Is Now a Teachable Moment for Economists?,” an open letter to his fellow economists after the death of George Floyd. He’ll be interviewed by TPC senior fellow Howard Gleckman (@howard_gleckman).
