The Prescription: Fiscal Policy for the COVID-19 Economy with Marc Goldwein

This week’s guest: Marc Goldwein, Senior Vice President and Senior Policy Director at the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget

The Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center (TPC) is holding a series of online conversations on policy responses to the COVID-19 economy. The discussions take place every other Thursday afternoon and feature varying perspectives on the historic economic challenges faced by the United States and the world and the best ways to address them.

This week’s guest is Marc Goldwein (@MarcGoldwein), senior vice president and senior policy director at the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, where he focuses on tax, budget, and economic policy, Social Security, and health care. He previously worked on federal deficit–reducing panels, including the Simpson-Bowles fiscal commission and Hensarling-Murray super committee. He teaches economics at Johns Hopkins University and the University of California Washington Center.

Goldwein will talk with TPC senior fellow Howard Gleckman (@howard_gleckman) about the pandemic relief proposals being debated in Congress and overall US economic policy.
