The Prescription: Fiscal Policy for the COVID-19 Economy with Alan J. Auerbach

This week’s guest: Alan J. Auerbach, Professor of Economics and Law at the University of California, Berkeley

The Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center (TPC) is holding a series of online conversations on policy responses to the COVID-19 economy. The discussions take place every other Thursday afternoon and feature varying perspectives on the historic economic challenges faced by the United States and the world and the best ways to address them.

This week’s guest is Alan J. Auerbach, Robert D. Burch professor of economics and law at the University of California, Berkeley. He’ll talk with TPC senior fellow Howard Gleckman (@howard_gleckman) about the forthcoming book Taxing Profit in a Global Economy, which Auerbach coauthored with five internationally prominent economists and lawyers. The book describes the deep flaws in the existing international taxation system and proposes two models for radical reform.

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. Please email events@urban.org if you require any accommodations or have any questions about this event.
