Biography

Danny Rose is director of development at the Urban Institute. He has extensive experience attracting support for efforts to assist vulnerable families and expand opportunity for all people. In collaboration with Urban’s leadership team, senior researchers, and other development staff, he helps engage the philanthropic community in Urban’s work and mission.

Before joining Urban, Rose served five years as director of foundation development at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, where he worked closely with experts in federal and state fiscal policies, social insurance programs, and housing, health, and nutrition programs. Over his career, he has generated revenue as a staff member or consultant for diverse policy-focused and direct service organizations, including the PICO National Network, Enterprise Community Partners, Save the Children US Programs, and Friendship Public Charter Schools.

Rose received a BA in English and classics from Vassar College and an MA in English from the University of Texas at Austin.
