Distribution of Capital Gains and Qualified Dividends

Taxpayers generally face lower tax rates on long-term capital gains and qualified dividends than they do on income from other sources.  These tables show the distribution of income from gains and dividends across the income categories as well as the distribution of the federal income taxes paid on that income.
