Don Alexander - Passing of a Friend
The Tax Policy Center joins with the entire tax community in mourning the recent loss of Don Alexander, who died Monday at the age of 87. He had a long and distinguished career of public service. He served as IRS commissioner from 1973 to 1977. He was a frequent participant in TPC forums, always lending a unique perspective. Don was a brilliant colleague, a dedicated mentor, a wonderful friend, and a true leader in the tax policy world. He will be missed both professionally and personally.
Don's memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 11:00 a.m. at St. Alban's.
