Tax Stimulus Report Card: Senate Finance Committee Bill

The Tax Policy Center has graded the key tax provisions of the pending Senate stimulus bill (the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Tax Act of 2009"). Our grades reflect how well these stimulus measures would boost the economy in the short run for each dollar spent.

The summary report card links to detailed discussion of each of the bill's major provisions, describing both current law and the proposed changes and explaining short- and long-term effects on the budget and the economy as well as anticipated consequences for fairness and tax complexity.
