TPC Trio Testifies before Senate Budget Committee 

Wednesday, February 2, 2011-Three scholars associated with the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center appeared before the Senate Budget panel to discuss, “Tax Reform: A Necessary Component for Restoring Fiscal Responsibility.” Their prepared testimony is now available online:

• Cutting Tax Preferences is Key to Tax Reform and Deficit Reduction by TPC's current director, Donald Marron.
• Reforming Federal Taxes: Lessons From History by Eugene Steuerle, Urban Institute fellow and Richard B. Fisher Chair at the Urban Institute, was a TPC cofounder.
• Tax Reform: A Necessary Component of Meeting the Fiscal Challenges Ahead by Rosanne Altshuler, professor at Rutgers University, preceded Donald as TPC director and is now an affiliated scholar.
