Distributional Analysis of the Proposed Standard Deduction for Health InsuranceFebruary 7, 2007 The following tables show Tax Policy Center estimates of the distribution of tax changes resulting from the proposed standard deduction for health insurance as well as information on the distribution of subsidies for health insurance. The estimates are grouped into three categories: distribution tables for the tax change resulting from the proposal, distribution of health insurance subsidies under current law, and distribution of health insurance subsidies under the proposal. Separate tables are provided for the change in income and medicare taxes and the change in all federal taxes. Tables are limited to nondependent tax units with head or spouse under 65.
