New Tax Cut Legislation

The U.S. House and Senate are considering new tax cut legislation. The Tax Policy Center has generated preliminary distributional analyses of the two bills as well as other key issues being considered, including:

• extension of capital gains and dividend relief through 2009, and
• a one-year extension of the higher Alternative Minimum Tax exemption.
