The Tax Policy Center Newsletter

Tax Policy Center Events

- Podcast: Stupid Tax Tricks

During this Tax Policy Center forum panelists discussed how and why well-intended tax incentives often miss their mark and why tax policy and even the IRS might on occasion be the best instruments to advance non-tax objectives. Listen to the complete event, or visit the event web page for remarks from individual panel members and for more information.

- Upcoming Event: Higher Education and the Tax System (May 23, 2007)

Rising college tuition costs are a major concern for U.S. families. A complex system of tax credits, grants, and loans helps some families meet college costs. This forum will discuss who benefits from current tax credits for higher education and consider ways the student aid system may be simplified and made more effective. Look for more details in future newsletters.
