TAX FACTS: US-Dutch Tax Treaty Stalled In Senate

... An analysis by the Urban Institute-Brookings Administration Tax Policy Center showed that just 1.3% of 32.8 million tax returns with small business income are subject to the top income tax rate and therefore would benefit from the reduced 35% income tax bracket.

The study also found fault with claims about estate tax benefits to small businesses. Just 340 estates nationwide have small business or farm assets representing a majority of the estate that would owe any estate tax in 2004, the study said. Estates valued at less than $1.5 million for individuals and $3 million for couples are exempt from the estate tax. ...
