Guide to Viewing Slide Shows

creates space to wrap around helpguyClicking on the title of a slide show brings up that slide show in a new browser window. Various controls allow you to move through the slides, either as a continuous slide show or slide-by-slide.

Viewing the Slides as a Continuous Show

Each slide show starts in a “paused” status. If you wish to view the slides as a continuous show, click the center round button (the one with just a triangle pointing right) in the group of five round buttons toward the left side of the controls at the bottom of the page. Slides will change every seven or eight seconds. If you wish to pause the slide show, click the same button again (it now shows two vertical lines) and the slide show will return to the paused status.

Viewing the Slides One-by-One

If you’d rather view the slides one-by-one, leave the slide show in the paused status and use the other four round buttons to move among the slides. In order from left to right, the five round buttons will: 1) go to the first slide (triangle pointing left toward a vertical line); 2) go back one slide (triangle pointing left with a vertical line to its right); 3) start or stop continuous play of the slides; 4) go forward one slide (triangle pointing right with a vertical line to its left); and 5) go to the last slide (triangle pointing right toward a vertical line).

Menu

The Menu button on the left side of the controls at the bottom of the page shows or hides a complete list of slides in the slide show. Clicking on the Menu button either shows or hides the menu. Clicking on a slide’s title in the menu takes you directly to that slide.

Notes

Clicking on the Notes button at the right side of the controls at the bottom of the page reveals any notes for the slide displayed. Clicking the button again hides any notes.

Slide Show Status

The status of the slide show appears in the center of the controls at the bottom of the page, indicating both the number of the slide displayed and the total number of slides in the current show. The red progress bar at the top of the status display shows graphically where in the slide show the current slide appears. You can move quickly forward or backward through the show by dragging the right end of the red progress bar to the right or to the left.

Sound

The round button with an icon for a loudspeaker on the right side of the controls at the bottom of the page allows you to set the sound volume at which any slides with sound will play. In general, TPC slide shows have no sound.
